<p>PURPOSE:To improve the quality of an image to be displayed by forming polyimide orientation films in such a manner that the imidization rate of one film is nearly equal to the imidization rate of the other film. CONSTITUTION:The polyimide orientation films of a field effect type liquid crystal display element consisting of two sheets of substrates 1, 9 having electrodes 2, 8, at least the surfaces of which are coated with the polyimide orientation films 3, 4 and a liquid crystal layer 7 sandwiched between said substrates are so formed that the imidization rate of one polyimide orientation film is nearly equal to the imidization rate of the other polyimide orientation film. There are, therefore, no differences in the ratios at which a polyamide acid is incorporated into said films, the arranging condition of the high-polymer chains in the orientation films and how the high polymers are packed in the orientation films. The ease with which electric charges are accumulated on respective dielectric layer is consequently nearly equal and flickers are extremely decreased. The display quality of the image is thereby improved.</p> |
