In the case of an electrical apparatus, especially a small electric motor, having a housing and having a strain-relief device for a connecting cable, with which strain-relief device a moulded element is associated, on which moulded element the connecting cable can be fixed such that it is bent, the moulded element is an attachment which is located externally on the housing and carries, at a distance from the housing, a retaining cap which overhangs it over at least a part of its circumference. The invention is primarily advantageous wherever there is no space for a strain-relief device within the housing. In addition, as a result of an electrical apparatus being constructed according to the invention, its assembly is simplified.
