PURPOSE:To achieve the increase in transmission torque by setting the degree of rigidity of tightening rings to such a degree that the tightening rings in the tightened condition have an elongation in the circumferential direction, and that the elongation is less than the elastic limit of the tightening rings, so that a clamp hub can be directly tightened up. CONSTITUTION:Ring-shaped grooves 13 for inserting tightening rings 2 from both end faces of a shaft coupling main body 1 are formed, and the inner circumferential wall of these ring-shaped grooves 13 is made to be a clamp hub 11, and the outer circumferential wall is made to be an outer cylinder part 12, and further a plurality of slits 17 opened toward the edge are formed. In this case, the mean diameter of outer circumference of the tightening ring 2 is made less than that of the outer cylinder part 12. And the taper of fitting part of the tightening ring 2 and the clamp hub 11, the clearance d between the tightening ring 2 and the outer cylinder part 12 before tightening, and the degree of rigidity of the tightening ring 2 are set to respective prescribed values, so that the outer circumferential surface of the tightening ring 2 is brought into pressedly contact with the inner circumferential surface of the outer cylinder part 12, when a tightening bolt 3 is tightened. |
