According to the invention, a conveyor belt device having a conveying means which is supported by a supporting frame and having at least one top part which is fixed with respect to the supporting frame and may take the form of a feeding or delivery hopper, a feeding or delivery chute or one or more abrasion strip(s) and/or side wall elevation strip(s), slide rail(s) or a lower covering floor for the lower run of the conveying means in order to protect against the threat posed by involuntary or unauthorised contact with moving parts to operating personnel and the risk of damage to individual components of the conveyor belt device during conveying, has a mounting device for the top part, by means of which device the said top part is mounted with respect to the supporting frame so as to be removable under the action of a force of a predetermined magnitude and/or direction wholly or in one or more portion(s) from its operating position which is fixed with respect to the supporting frame. To achieve this, a multiplicity of non-positive mounts of the top parts on the supporting frame are proposed which take the form of spring-loaded slideways and are capable of deflection and/or lifting out and/or releasing and/or disengagement or mutual bonding by means of a suitable adhesive.
