The invention relates to a plastic material for filling the hollow spaces within a plastic tube filled with a multiplicity of steel wires or steel litz wires. It consists of a plastic which initially has low viscosity, for example polyurethane, and is converted by the addition of a curing agent into a solid, easily deformable state. In the process, the plastic is mixed in the liquid phase with flour-fine, solid basic particles, for example of cement, fly ash or the like and with closed-pored, readily deformable, compressible particles, for example of ground foam, cork or the like.
