The invention relates to a device for analysing an image which is picked up by a television camera (3) of a missile (1) approaching a target. The video signals (VS) are supplied to a tunable band-pass filter (16), the filter characteristic of which can be continuously varied in accordance with the image perspective as determined by the image size of the target to be recognised in dependence on the image coordinate signals (X, Y). As a result, image areas, which represent objects with the real dimensions of the target to be recognised are analysed size-specifically within the image. These image areas can be correspondingly marked, for example colour-coded, in a recording unit (23), for example a monitor.
