The transmission mechanism (6) associated with the tread crank (7) has two drive levers (20, 21) pivotally supported in a bearing support (15), the prolongation (22, 23) of which is formed by the points of contact with the thigh of the rider. Supported on the drive levers (20, 21) is a deflection roller (33) via which a flexible traction element (27, 28) is fed, the upper end (26) of which is attached to the bearing support (15) and the lower end (29) to the axle of the pedal (10). During the treading motion of the rider (12) a force is generated by the appropriate thigh of the leg which is relieved of effort, said force being transmitted to the tread crank (7), without applying an effort to the foot and lower thigh parts. To achieve a better adaptation of this transmission mechanism, additional means can be provided in the region of the tread crank or lower and/or upper attachment of the flexible traction element (27, 28), said means being associated with the tread crank (7) and traction elements (27, 28). |
