The opening (2) in a wall (3) for a pipe or cable (1) is sealed by means of a sleeve (4) of elastically deformable material. The sleeve has an annular cavity (8) which extends over most of its length. A sealing sleeve, which is made in two halves which fit around the pipe or cable, is inserted into the annular cavity. The radial thickness of this sealing sleeve is reduced at its inner end and has an internal and external screw thread. When the sealing sleeve is screwed into place, the first sleeve expands radially inwards and outwards to form a seal with the pipe or cable and with the wall surface. |
