A pressure medium control device of a motor vehicle for a hydrostatic power-assisted steering system and for a working circuit (4) is provided with a servo pump (2) with a flow divider valve (3) for dividing the pressure medium for the steering and working hydraulic systems and with a hydrostatic steering device (6). The hydrostatic steering device (6) is provided in a manner known per se with a servo motor which can be connected via a servo switching device (18, 19). A pressure changing valve (26) with different working faces (35, 36) is arranged between the flow divider valve (3) and the servo pump (2), the smaller working face (35) of the said valve (26) being subjected to the pressure (P1) of the servo pump and its larger working face (36) being subjected to the pressure (P2) of the hydrostatic steering system. The servo switching device (18, 19) has different working faces (31, 32 and 20, 21) in the same ratio, the smaller working face (31 or 32) also being subjected to the pressure (P1) and the larger working face (20 or 21) also being subjected to the pressure (P2). The pressure feed line (25) which leads to the servo switching device (18, 19) branches off upstream of the pressure changing valve (26). <IMAGE>
