Process and plant for the thermophilic pretreatment of sewage sludge with simultaneous decontamination

A process is described for aerobic-thermophilic or anaerobic-thermophilic pretreatment of sewage sludge with simultaneous decontamination, according to which the raw sludge produced is fed via a sludge/sludge heat exchange system to a treatment reactor. The raw sludge is circulated in a semi-continuous batch operation, for which purpose a treatment circuit of the treatment reactor and a heat exchanger is provided. After the required residence time, the pretreated sludge is fed via the sludge/sludge heat exchange system to a mesophilic sludge digester.
