A new type of spring (9) dentures of the upper jaw is disclosed to improve anchorage of the denture on the upper jaw. The spring has a statically and precisely defined excursion and applies a restoring force in a determined position of the lower jaw denture (1) in relation to the upper jaw denture (2), without being felt as a foreign body in the mouth. The wire-shaped denture spring (9) is an articulated tension spring that lies close against the denture profile, is spherically bent and has no screw-shaped spring coil at its articulation point. The wire ends of the articulated tension spring extend forward beyond its anchoring points (7) on the front part of the upper jaw and lower jaw denture, up to a turning point (8), from which they turn back to their anchoring points. |
