Method for the rapid determination of ternary solution compositions by continuous measurement of the refractive index nD and the specific gravity d of a solution comprising three components and calculation of the proportions by weight X1, X2 and X3 of the respective components according to the formulae developed therefor. By use of a data processing facility for calculating the proportions by weight and emitting the controlling electrical signals to the feed system for the raw materials, it is possible to automatically control the feed of a ternary system into a continuous solution mixing system or a continuous reaction system.
