<p>PURPOSE:To miniaturize an apparatus as a whole and to improve the detection accuracy of torque, by arranging a magnet, a magnetic detection element, a signal processing circuit and a slip ring within a steering gear in this order from the side as going away from a steering shaft. CONSTITUTION:When a driver rotates a steering wheel 2 in a desired rotation to rotate a steering shaft 1, since the reaction force from a wheel acts on the pinion shaft 9 connected to the shaft 1 through a torsion bar 22, the torsion corresponding to operation torque is generated in the torsion bar 22. By this mechanism, relative rotational displacement is generated between a stub shaft 1a and the pinion shaft 9. A Hall element 31 and a magnet 32 relatively rotate in the same way by said relative rotational displacement and the electric signal corresponding to this relative rotation is inputted to a signal processing circuit 34 from the Hall element 31 and taken out to the outside through a slip ring 40.</p> |
