The circuit prevents the change of back raster and the color change of phosphor by controlling the excessive beam current. This circuit comprises a differential amplifying unit (1) which amplifies the difference between the integrated signal and the voltage (B+), a deflection control switching unit (2) which outputs the deflection control switching (Vi) according to the output of the differential amplifying unit, a first image amplifying unit (5) which amplifies the beam current of the image signal (Vi) according to the output of the deflection control switching unit, a second image ampifying unit (6) which amplifies the output of the first image amplifying unit, an image clamp circuit (7) which outputs the output of the second image amplifying unit to the cathode of CPT by clamping it to some voltage level, an image clamp controlling unit (3) which outputs the image clamp control signal (V2), and an image clamp switching unit (4) which controls the clamp level of the image clamp circuit.
