PURPOSE:To provide paint which can be detected with a high-frequency oscillating proximity switch when applied to an object to be detected having an arbitrary shape by incorporating a magnetic powder having a high permeability in an electrically conductive paint. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic powder having a high permeability is incorporated in an electrically conductive paint to obtain the desired paint for an object to be detected with a high-frequency oscillating proximity switch. The resulting paint can be applied to objects having any shape and colored so that a location to be detected can be defined and the paint can be applied to those having holes or an uneven surface. For example, when ferrite powder having a specific permeability of 100-500 is incorporated in an electrically conductive paint, it is preferred to apply the paint in a thicknes of 3-0.65mm.. By properly selecting the coating thickness of the paint and the permeability of the magnetic powder, the oscillating frequency for the proximity switch can be set to meet various requirements.
