PURPOSE:To obtain a response from any subscriber telephone by a called person by giving a personal number to a pocket bell and dialing a pocket bell response special number and the personal number of the called person to an incoming call to the pocket bell by the called person. CONSTITUTION:A personal number to dial in order to call a called subscriber by a calling subscriber 1 is received by an outgoing register 5 and discriminated by a central control unit 9. Next, it is judged by a deciding means 12 whether or not the called subscriber is in the room. When the called subscriber is absent, the called person receiving a pocket bell call dials a pocket bell response special number and the personal number of the called subscriber himself from a called person subscriber telephone set 2 other arbitrary subscriber telephone set 3. The central control unit 9 controls an exchange switch 4 so as to link the subscriber telephone set 1 of a calling person with a telephone set responded by the called person through a trunk 8 in its own office from the personal number of the called person and the information of the subscriber telephone set of the calling person stored in the temporary memory area of a memory device 11 earlier.
