PURPOSE:To accurately discriminate the effectiveness of a picture signal to perform highly accurate focus detection in a short time. CONSTITUTION:It is decided whether operation of information relating to focus adjustment is performed or not by a focus adjustment information operation means 7 based on a peak value detected by a peak detecting means 4 and a contrast value detected by a contrast detecting means 5, in a discriminating part 6. For example, the peak value and the contrast value are respectively weighed and summed, when the sum value exceeds the prescribed value, execution of operation for focus adjustment information is decided, information relating to focus adjustment is operated in a correlation operating part 7, a driving control part 8 controls driving of a motor 9 based on focus adjustment information being the operated result and an object lens 1 is driven. |
