<p>A label transferring device which places labels simultaneously in separate sides of a mold used in blow molding machines. A hydraulic cylinder has a carriage assembly mounted to the piston rod so as to be extended between the separated mold sections and retracted to a position between a set of label supply magazines. The label supply magazines are positioned so that a set of opposed carrying cylinders can extend and pick up the labels on carrying heads and place the labels on the placement areas in the mold. Alternatively, the carrying cylinders are mounted on a pair of extendable, converging clamp arms which clamp onto the molded objects, remove them from the molding area and transport the objects to other processing stations in the machine. In another arrangement, an articulating arm is mounted directly on one of the platens and includes a vacuum section head to transport the labels. The articulating arm moves the carrying head from a label supply magazine which is also mounted on the platen to a labeling position between the molds, so that both the articulating arm and supply magazine are carried by the platen as it moves to different blow molding stations.</p> |
