PURPOSE:To obtain a small-sized micrometer of simple structure by rotating a thimble and moving the 1st spindle over rotation, and transmitting its movement to the 2nd spindle as axial movement which is accompanied by rotary rotation. CONSTITUTION:When a knob 19 (thimble 17) is rotated in a specific direction, the 1st spindle 15 moves to right while rotating. Then the 2nd spindle 24 rotates clockwise while inhibited from rotating. Thus, the 1st spindle 15 rotates and moves, but the 2nd spindle 24 moves linearly without rotating. A body to be measured is disposed in a gap which is formed between an anvil and the tip of the 2nd spindle 24 and larger than the size of the body to be measured and the knob 19 is rotated in the direction opposite to said direction. Consequently, the 1st spindle 15 moves to left while rotating. |
