PURPOSE:To obtain the stable reading and writing of a data at the inner and outer circumference parts of a magnetic disk, by adding a support bracket to a magnetic head supporting mechanism to regulate the length of a flexible support bar of the magnetic head. CONSTITUTION:A flexible support bar 2 of a magnetic head is driven by a driving motor 4 via a driving mechanism part 5 and moves a magnetic head 3 to ward the radius direction of a magnetic disk 1 while sliding through a support bracket 8 having low friction. In this case, length of the bar 2 extends, as the head 3 advances from the outer circumference to the inner circumference of the disk 1. The head 3 floats up easily since the flowing velocity of air is high at the outer circumference surface. However, the float-up of the head 3 is avoided owing to a reduction of the length of the bar 2. Thus the reading and writing of a data is stabilized. |
