PRODUCTION OF FORMED ARTICLE OF POLYMER

摘要

PURPOSE:To obtain an oriented article of a polymer having excellent mechanical properties, by using a polymer capable of forming a liquid crystal and having a specific viscosity, applying a magnetic field to a specific intensity to the polymer in the liquid crystal-forming stage and increasing the molecular weight of the polymer during or after the application of the magnetic field. CONSTITUTION:A polymer capable of forming a liquid crystal and having a logarithmic viscosity of 0.5-7.0dl/g, preferably 0.5-4.0dl/g (preferably polyazomethine) is applied with a magnetic field of >=1 tesla, preferably 4-20 tesla in the liquid crystal-forming stage and the molecular weight of the polymer is increased e.g. by heating during and/or after the application of the magnetic field to obtain the objective oriented polymer article.
