PURPOSE:To improve storage stability of a dye image by incorporating an anilino-type magenta coupler and a specified cyan coupler in a photosensitive material and controlling pH of the final processing soln. used for a color development to a specified value. CONSTITUTION:An anilino-type magenta coupler and a cyan coupler represented by general formula I are used for a photosensitive material, and its processing is stabilized by controlling pH of the final processing soln. used for color development to 2.0-6.5. A dye image obtained by color developing a silver halide color photosensitive material using said magenta coupler and said cyan coupler and stabilizing it is prevented from yellow staining caused by the unreacted magenta coupler, and superior in color fading resistance both in the light and the dark, thus enhancing long time storage stability of the dye image in good balance. In formula I , R1, R2 are each alkyl, aryl, alkylamino, arylamino, or heterocyclic, or R2 may form a 6-membered hetero ring condensed with the phenol ring of formula I together with R3; R3 is H or halogen; Z1 is H or a group capable of being released from the cyan coupler of formula I by its reaction with the oxidized product of a color developing agent. |
