<p>PURPOSE:To facilitate the cursor operations by turning a cursor indicating the coordinate input position in the direction of a pen contact area against a reference point on a substrate and moving the cursor at a speed proportional to the distance from said reference point. CONSTITUTION:A coordinate input device contains a tablet 10 serving as a substrate, a pen having a contact with the surface of the tablet 10 for input of the coordinates, and a CRT 15 which displays a cursor, etc. The tablet 10 has an approximately square contact surface 12 at an upper part and a reference point 13 set at an approximately center part. The concentrical circles 14 are drawn on the surface 12 centering on the point 13 and used as reference lines. When a pen 11 touches a point on the surface 12, the cursor moves on the CRT 15 from a point A displayed presently in the direction theta between the point 13 and the contact point and at a speed proportional to a distance lfrom the point 13.</p> |
