PURPOSE:To attain quick and sure focusing by providing a control means calculating the distance up to a just focus position of a focus lens and applying variable control to the moving speed of the focus lens in response to the distance. CONSTITUTION:Aperture information F is fed to a microcomputer 3 from an aperture 13. Then the microcomputer 3 calculates a distance (x) up to the just focus position of the focus lens 1 based on each supplied information. Then the microcomputer 3 applies variable control to the moving speed of the focus lens 1 based on the calculated distance (x). That is, if the focus lens 1 is parted largely from, the just focus position P, the focus lens 1 is moved at a high speed up to a point P1 (e.g., a limit point of depth of focus d) near the just focus position P. |
