摘要 PURPOSE:To provide a recording material imparting sufficient developed color density at the time of the combination use with an electron donative leuco dye and forming a developed color material excellent in fastness and chemical resistance after color development, in the recording material using the electron donative leuco dye and an electron acceptive compound, by using a compound represented by a predetermined general formula as the electron acceptive compound. CONSTITUTION:A compound represented by general formula (wherein R is a 2-15 C divalent group, R1 is a hydrogen atom, a hydroxyl group, a lower alkyl group or a halogen atom, R2 is a hydrogen atom, a lower alkyl group or a halogen atom and n is an integer of 1-5) is used as an electron acceptive compound. When the electron acceptive compound is used as that for a thermal recording material, said compound pref. has m.p. of 70-200 deg.C and imparts a high density color image in the combination with an electron donative leuco dye and is stable because of low water- solubility and no sublimability and easy to synthesize and obtained at high yield and high purity from inexpensive raw materials. As the electron donative leuco dye, a triarylmethane compound, a diphenylmethane compound, a xanthene compound, a thiazine compound and a spiropirane compound etc. are used.
