PURPOSE:To stabilize the emission of ink, by arranging the first electrode body, an ink holding film having an ink layer formed to the surface thereof and the second electrode body to which high potential is applied over a relatively wide region in this order. CONSTITUTION:An ink holding film 21 is constituted of a vinyl chloride resin mixed with carbon black and recording paper 23 is inserted between the ink holding film 21 and a rear electrode body 22. Ink is replenished to the ink holding film 21 from an ink roller 28 to make the thickness of the ink layer on the film constant. The ink holding film 21 is swept in the direction shown by an arrow (f) and the surface thereof opposed to recording paper 23 is renewed. A recording voltage pulse is selectively supplied to a recording electrode 20 from a drive circuit and electrostatic attraction force acts on the ink to which a high electric field is applied and an ink droplet impinges against the recording paper 23. Since the ink is emitted from the ink layer on the film, a stable ink surface is obtained, and the emission inferiority and overflow of the ink can be prevented. |
