PURPOSE:To industrially and advantageously obtain and acid fluoride, by reacting an organic halide with an alkali metal fluoride or ammonium fluoride and CO under mild condition in the presence of a carbonylation catalyst containing a group VII metal at a specific temperature or below. CONSTITUTION:An organic halide expressed by the formula R<1>X (R<1> is aryl, alkenyl, aralkyl or heterocyclic ring; X is halogen), e.g. iodobenzene, etc., is reacted with a fluorinating agent, e.g. cesium fluoride, etc., selected from alkali metal fluorides or ammonium fluoride and CO in the presence of a complex catalyst, e.g. PdCl2(PPh3)2, etc., containing a group VIII metal, e.g. Co, Rh, Pd, Pt, etc., and a dielectronic donative ligand, e.g. benzonitrile, triphenylphosphine, etc., in an amount of at least 1 equivalent based on the above-mentioned metal to afford the aimed acid fluoride expressed by the formula R<1>COF, e.g. benzoyl fluoride, etc. |
