The invention relates to a method and a device for changing the cellular plates 4, 4' of a filling machine including cavities for containers, according to which the cellular plates are withdrawn, one after the other, from the filling machine and the cellular plates of another format are virtually simultaneously fitted into the filling machine. This is achieved by the fact that a changing device 6 takes the cellular plates of the first format at a first receiving location of a magazine and gives the cellular plates of another format to the machine at a depositing location arranged at a certain distance. In this way it is possible to change cellular plates precisely, very quickly and with simple means. <IMAGE>
