A pipe 28 with a plurality of gas outlet apertures 30 is inserted inside a fill pipe 16 of a liquid storage tank 2. The fill pipe 16 has its outlet covered by the liquid contents 14 of the tank. Said pipe 28 conveys the gaseous component of the liquid in the fill pipe 16 to a separate outlet 32 when refilling liquid is introduced into the fill pipe. This allows the gaseous component of the delivered liquid to be vented separately from the liquid in the fill pipe 16 without disturbing the liquid contents 14 of the storage tank.
