This relates to the control of electrical equipment 12 set up behind a wall 10 having a drilled hole 13 providing access thereto, the device employed for this purpose including a socket 15 by which it is fastened to the wall 10, a control unit 16 arranged axially in the socket 15 and mounted movably with respect to the latter, and a control head 17 suitable for enabling an operator to operate the said control unit 16 and hence, thereby, to operate the subjacent electrical equipment 12. According to the invention, the control head 17 is fastened directly to the socket 15. Application to flame-proof electrical equipment. <IMAGE>
