PURPOSE:To enable the reversible writing/erasion and to improve the stability for a long time of a cumulative film as well as the preservability of record by accumulating monomolecular film of a specified dioxypyrimidine deriv. on a substrate. CONSTITUTION:A monomolecular film consisting of a dioxypyrimidine deriv. expressed by the formula is accumulated on a substrate 4. In the formula, R1 is a 16-22C long chain alkyl; R2 is H, 2-4C carboxyalkyl, or pentose residue; R3 is H, or methyl. The compd. expressed by the formula can form a monomolecular film on the surface of water and can be accumulated on the substrate 4 by the Langmuir-Blodgett's technique. The absorption of the specified wavelength accompanying the photodimerization is eliminated by the irradiation with the ultraviolet rays having a first wavelength, and the dimer is splitted by the irradiation with the ultraviolet rays having a second wavelength to restore the above described absorption. By this method, the reversible optical recording has become possible, and a recording medium having the stability for a long time of the film as well as high preservability of record is obtd. |
