PURPOSE:To prevent the separation and increase in contact resistance between a terminal plate and a bipolar plate by using two or more conductive terminal plates, and bonding terminal plates each other and also the terminal plate to an adjacent bipolar plate with conductivity retained to fabricate a terminal. CONSTITUTION:A large number of electrolytic cells each of which consists of a positive electrode 11, a negative electrode 12, and a separator 13 are stacked through bipolar plates 18 to form a bipolar type stacked cell. Terminals on both ends of the bipolar stacked cell are fabricated by bonding a terminal plate 22 to a terminal plate 23, and the terminal plate 22 to an adjacent bipolar plate 17 with conductivity retained between them. As a result, the warp of the stack caused by fastening the stack with bolts 20, and the separation and increase in the contact resistance between the terminal plate and the bipolar plate caused by the difference in thermal expansion coefficient during temperature increase are prevented. This terminal structure is also applied to a bipolar type stacked electrolytic cell. |
