The invention relates to an indicator system allowing monitoring of cracks or differential movements in construction or in statics of materials. This allows multidirectional monitoring with implantation spacings between elements to be monitored of 20 to 80 cm or more. According to the formula used, it allows simple monitoring by breaking of a frangible material, or more continuous quantitative monitoring, of the variation of the movement. The system assembly consists principally of two clamps 4 allowing two pins 1 anchored on the element to be monitored to be connected, via a small strip of a frangible material 6 or metal rods, one of which is graduated, and the other comprises a monitoring slide. <IMAGE>
