Key and encodable mechanical plug system. The invention allows any mechanical lock system to be actuated by a key and single plug, which can be encoded at will. The system consists of a key 1 comprising a succession of wheels 2, which by rotating on a cylinder 3 longitudinally actuate rods 4. These rods come into contact with other rods 5 symmetrically positioned in the moving part 6 of the plug, allowing notches 7, previously positioned at will, to be moved. These notches therefore, by means of a code displayed at 1, align on a plane perpendicular to the axis of the plug, in a zone 8 of the fixed part 9 of the plug. A system 10 will allow, after displaying the code, the moving plug assembly 6 and key 1 to be removed, so that the code can be changed. This device allows replacement of any mechanical key with a single model. <IMAGE>
