The invention relates to a device for electrically assisting the various functions of an Alpine or cross-country ski, which enables it to be improved. It is thus possible to ski better and faster. This ski consists of a lath I of flexible material having a raised end II. At the centre of this lath I is arranged the binding assembly 2 of the boot 5. A heating resistance element 17 arranged in the sole 15 of the lath I keeps the surface 16 of the ski at a positive temperature, which permits a considerable improvement in its gliding capabilities. The skier's movements are used by virtue of an articulated arm 3 in order to set in motion a rotating machine 4 which supplies the heating resistant element 17. This rotating machine 4 is also used as a motor break when descending. The device according to the invention is intended particularly for Alpine skiing and cross-country skiing. <IMAGE>
