PURPOSE:To obtain a nonaqueous solvent battery whose voltage drop in the final stage in quick discharge is small and discharge performance is good by adding a specified amount of chromium oxide to a positive electrode using manganese dioxide as active material. CONSTITUTION:Chromium oxide powder indicating in the formula CrOx (2.0<=x<=2.9) is added to manganese dioxide active material powder. The content of the chromium oxide is specified to 1-40 wt.% of the manganese dioxide. Graphite powder serving as conductive material and a fluorine resin binder are added to the mixture, and they are formed in a pellet by the press process or in a sheet by the roll process, then heated at 250 deg.C for 5 hours to bond strongly and to remove moisture completely. A nonaqueous solvent battery assembled with a positive electrode 1 obtained, a negative electrode 2 comprising lithium metal, and a separator 3 comprising polypropylene nonwoven fabric impregnated with nonaqueous electrolyte shows small voltage drop in the final stage of discharge. |
