<p>Thin sheet material for use in mfr. of condoms, vaginal diaphragms, surgical gloves, etc. is made by (a) forming a layer of gel on a substrate; (b) drying the sheet formed at 65-95 deg.C; (c) neutralising and coagulating, pref. in NH4OH soln. with OH ion concn. of 0.14-1.3N for 30 sec. to 5 min.; (d) washing with water and removing the sheet formed; and finally (e) curing the sheet in a soln. contg. 0.05-1% aldehyde such as formaldehyde, glyoxal or pref. glutaraldehyde. ..ER ALL</p> |
