PURPOSE:To improve the operability of a serviceman by protecting a mistake at the time of clearing a second counting means corresponding to replaced parts. CONSTITUTION:An electrophotographic copying machine is provided with a first counting means for counting the number of copy sheets, the second counting means for counting the use frequency of parts, which cannot be counted by the first counting means, a storage means for saving the counting value of the second counting means, and a clear means for clearing the counting value of the second counting means. Also, said copying machine is provided with a clear instructing means for instructing its clear, a cancel instructing means for instructing the cancel of the clear of the counting value of the second counting means, and a clear control means for clearing the counting value after saving the counting value in the storage means, when the clear of the counting value is instructed, and for resetting the counting value saved in the counting means, to the second counting means, when the cancel of the clear is instructed. In such a way, the counting value of the second counting means is saved in advance at the time of clearing, therefore, when clearing is executed by mistake, the original counting value can be recovered by returning its value to the second counting means. |
