Installation (30) and process for closing automatically valve bags (10), as well as said valve bags. The valve bags are provided with a bottom valve (14) and a projecting cover sheet (15). The installation comprises a driven conveyor (32) with a valve supply device (34) and lateral guides (36) in a closing station (40), which is provided with a glue coating device (42) and with a movable, preferably elastic compression element (46). The various valve bags are positioned after the filling thereof and provided to the closure station, wherein the projection part (15, 16, 18) is returned to the valve essentially in parallel to a side edge (22) of the valve bag and an adhesive is applied to the neighbouring bottom area (24). Thereafter, the compression element further folds back the projection part and pushes it against the adhesive area of the bag bottom (12). The control of the successive steps is carried out essentially by means of the running of the switching device for the incoming valve bags. |
