The heating system is provided principally for plant-cultivation tables in greenhouses and is intended to be operated in the low-temperature range. According to the invention, a plurality of flexible heating mats, with tubes for conveying the heat transfer medium in the longitudinal direction, and heat-insulating layers are arranged one beside the other. The heat-insulating layer is located on the underside. The heating mats are covered over by a screed layer, which projects not more than 20 mm over the tube upper edge. The heating mats may be fastened on the table frame, tension-bearing cables may be arranged between the mats, and the tubes should be spaced apart from one another by the same intervals. Advantages of the invention are low outlay in terms of energy and material and installation, good heat distribution, low control inertia and the possibility of redesigning existing greenhouse tables. <IMAGE>
