In order to allow a setting or adjustment of pivotably held elements, such as room doors, windows and the like, in a simple, but sensitive way, a hinge cone (1) having an upper and a lower ball-shaped head (2, 3) is used in the hinge (24). The lower head (3) is arranged in a bowl (4) which, after appropriate circumferential fixing of the hinge cone (1) by means of a locking screw (7), presses the said hinge cone (1) against a supporting rim (8). The bowl (4) is arranged in a hinge sleeve (5) which, together with an adjusting screw (9) having an external thread, is arranged in a strap sleeve (11). A grooved guide (12, 13) is provided in the strap sleeve (11), in order to prevent the rotation of the hinge sleeve (5). As a result of the rotation of the adjusting screw (9) in the strap sleeve (11) equipped with an internal thread, the height position of the hinge cone (1) is adjusted, since the hinge sleeve (5) is connected to the adjusting screw (9) by means of the locking screw (7) passing through the bottom of the adjusting screw (9). <IMAGE>
