Said device comprises a housing in which three or more filters are mounted stepwise one behind another or one above another, apart from the passage of air through the filter the excess air being deflected on impinging against the filters and directed via free passages to the air shaft of the car and being cleaned. An additional, thin filter disc is provided both at the beginning and end of the device. The arrangement makes it possible for the air to be well filtered with the device being as small as possible. The filters can easily be exchanged via a lid provided on the device.
