The sealing ring for a plug-in pipe connection has a cylindrical inner surface, a toroidal outer region and a control region which passes beyond the sleeve collar. After insertion into an annular sleeve groove, the sealing ring undergoes a torsional tilting movement which reinforces it radially. The control region passing beyond the sleeve collar serves only to control the determining axial fixing of the sealing ring in the sleeve. In a concave radial outer region, which essentially follows the inner shape of the sleeve, there are arranged ventilation slots which are intended for the cavity between sealing ring and sleeve wall and open radially outwards via the control region.
