The scooping trowel shown has a sliding frame (2) with a trowel blade (1) and can be guided and moved by a handle (3). The trowel blade (1) is in one piece as is the sliding frame (2). The lateral runners (24) of the latter are brought together by a V-shaped bend (27) which bears, at its point, a stem (31) with handle (3). The trowel blade (1) comprises two triangular side parts (12) which are each fastened on a runner (21) by an edge part and hold a central part (11) between them, said central part widening, in the form of a trapezium, from the runners (21) up to the scooping edge (19). Mortar can thus be scooped out of a receptacle and, by pivoting up, be provided on the application surface (5) of a wall (7). Subsequently, the trowel is tipped up from the application surface (5) in such a manner that the application plane (23) of the sliding frame (2) lies on the application surface (5). Formed between the latter and a covering (15) of the central part (11) is an outlet opening (17), through which a mortar bead (8) is applied if the trowel is pulled by the handle (3) in the direction of the arrow (32). All that needs to be done, in one operation, is thus to scoop, pivot up, position, tip and pull. <IMAGE>
