The invention relates to a four-row potato-harvesting machine with bar-chain conveyors for the transport of potatoes and leaves, which are arranged behind the harvesting implements for the four potato rows and which are each assigned to two rows and are therefore arranged in pairs, in which potato-harvesting machine potatoes and leaves are guided via a first pair of bar-chain conveyors with a narrow bar spacing to a second pair of bar-chain conveyors with a narrow bar spacing, each of which is surrounded by a bar-chain conveyor which serves as a leaf conveyor and has a wide bar spacing and which serves for separating leaves and discharging them into a conveying gutter, whilst the second bar-chain conveyor serves as a potato conveyor for guiding the potatoes further onto cross-conveyors arranged transversely to the direction of travel. The object of the invention is, by simple means, to provide a potato-harvesting machine of short construction, by means of which the potatoes are deposited in a swath under the middle of the machine. According to the invention, the two cross-conveyors surrounded by the leaf conveyors convey in the direction of the middle of the machine, and they are arranged offset in terms of their height in the middle of the machine.
