A photoresist element useful as a color proof which can be employed to predict the image quality for lithographic printing comprises (1) a substrate with a release surface, (2) a photoresist layer of a diazo resin, a colorants and an acrylic copolymer containing acid and ester units and (3) an adhesive layer which is preferably a vinyl acetate polymer. The element may be (a) image wise exposed, (b) laminated via the adhesive layer to a receiver sheet and (c) substrate removed, steps (a)-(c) being performed in no particular order, and (d) then developed. The process may be repeated to produce a 3- or 4-colour proof.
