PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a permanent magnet type synchronous motor which can sufficiently suppress the generation of cogging torque. When the open angle of an iron core between magnetic poles is adopted asθ, and an angle formed by the meeting of two straight lines of connecting the center of the farthest two end surfaces S1, S2 of the respective end surfaces of teeth 130 corresponding to the width of the projection part 136 to the center of a rotation axis is adopted asθMIN and an angle formed by the meeting of the farthest two end parts of the respective end parts of a teeth head in the teeth 130 corresponding to the width of the projection part is adopted asθMAX, the width of the projection part 136 is set so as 10 becomeθMIN<θ<=θMAX.
