TRANSFER MATERIAL FOR THERMAL TRANSFER RECORDING AND THERMAL TRANSFER RECORDING METHOD

PURPOSE:To enhance light fastness by eliminating the mutual action between a different kind of dyes, by providing a plurality of coloring material layers to the single surface of a base material and containing an indophenol dye in at least one of the coloring materials while containing a quinophthalone dye in at least the other layer. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of coloring material layers are provided to the single surface of a base material and each of both layers is constituted of at least a dye and a binder. At least one of the coloring material layers contains an indophenol dye and at least the other one of them contains a quinophthalone dye. One indophenol dye excellent in recording sensitivity, light fastness and the dark fading property with the quinophthalone dye is represented by formula A and, as the quinophthalone dye, a dye represented by formula F is pref. from the aspect of light fastness and recording sensitivity. It is not limited that two kinds of the above mentioned dyes are used alone or in combination with the same type dye or a separate kind of a dye. As the base material, a known one of every kind can be used.
