PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress power consumption by controlling a reception interval based on a reception state. SOLUTION: A microcomputer of a PHS fallen into a standby state reaches a reception state only for a time W1 at each 1.2 second to receive intermittently a control channel (PCH) (ST22-ST25, ST23). Furthermore, the microcomputer discriminates the reception state based on discrimination information in the reception state such as electric field strength and presence of error in received data at reception (ST27, ST33). The microcomputer reaches a state of receiving the control channel for each 2.4 seconds when the reception state is excellent consecutively for a prescribed time in the state of receiving the control channel for each 1.2 second in the power save mode (ST33-ST35), and the microcomputer immediately reaches a state of receiving the control channel for each 1.2 second when the reception state is not excellent in the state of receiving the control channel for each 2.4 seconds (ST33, ST32). When an excellent reception state is consecutive in the standby state, the reception interval of the control channel is extended to reduce the power consumption. |
