The invention relates to a method and an arrangement for implementing the method for conveying a take-off reel to a storage device, in the case of which method the take-off reel is conveyed to a position in which its central spindle is extended between the sleeves of a bearing device, and then the two sleeves are pushed against the ends of a telescopic rod which projects from the two end faces of the take-off reel. So that the take-off reel can be raised to a position between the sleeves of the bearing device without heavy manual labour, provision is made for the take-off reel to be conveyed to a position between the sleeves of the bearing device by means of a lifting device, which engages on the projecting ends of the telescopic rod and is removed after conveying has taken place, and for the two sleeves to be then inserted into the central bearing sockets of the take-off reel, and in so doing to push the telescopic rod completely into the take-off reel. <IMAGE>
